Resilient: Becoming Faithful in an Upside Down World

Joel 2:12-17 https://my.bible.com/bible/116/JOL.2.NLT

Today’s passage is a beautiful call to repentance; not just sorrow for the past but a call to a complete change of life. The emphasis is on inner change, not outward observance – “Let your hearts be broken, not your garments torn”. Repentance is not just feeling bad about the past and looking for forgiveness. It is also about bringing about a complete change of thinking, a new way of seeing our lives and moving forward on a different track. The Lenten season calls for an inner change in our way of life, not merely the external ‘giving up’ of minor pleasures. Let us pray that this Lenten season will help us see the world and life as God sees it.

What is something that you need to set aside during Lent that you may hear more clearly from God?

What is a spiritual practice that you need to add?

Is there something God may be calling you to repent?
